AFN Endorses Lisa Murkowski, Highlighting Leadership on Alaska Native Issues
ANCHORAGE, AK – Last week, at the Alaska Federation of Natives (AFN) annual convention, AFN endorsed Senator Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) re-election campaign.
AFN, the largest statewide Native organization in Alaska, represents more than 140,000 Native people. Its membership includes 158 federally recognized tribes, 141 village corporations, 10 regional corporations, and 12 regional nonprofit and tribal consortiums.

Senator Murkowski was recently ranked the #1 most effective Republican Senator on Native American and energy issues, according to the Center for Effective Lawmaking.
Senator Murkowski’s re-election campaign has now been endorsed by the ANCSA Regional Association, the Alaska Native Village Corporation Association, Arctic Slope Regional Corp., Bering Straits Native Corp., Bristol Bay Native Corp., Calista Corp., Chugach Corp., CIRI Corp., Koniag Corp., Old Harbor Native Corporation, Sealaska Corp., and over 140 Alaska Native leaders throughout the state.
