ANCHORAGE, AK – Today, the Alaska Native Village Corporation Association (ANVCA) – which represents 177 village and urban corporations across the state – announced its endorsement of Senator Lisa Murkowski’s re-election following a special board meeting vote.
“Senator Murkowski has long championed issues vital to ANVCA’s mission to protect Native lands and promote the success of our Village Corporations,” said ANVCA Board Chair Nathan McCowan. “From the herculean efforts to write, negotiate, and pass the bipartisan infrastructure law to ensuring Alaskans were protected during the pandemic with the CARES Act, Senator Murkowski has leveraged her seniority to secure big wins for our people.”
To date, Lisa Murkowski has been endorsed by numerous Alaska Native Corporations, including CIRI, Bering Straits Native Corporation, Koniag, Sealaska, Calista, and Chugach Alaska. Lisa has also received over 140 endorsements from Alaska Native leaders from across the state.
Senator Murkowski was recently ranked the #1 most effective Republican Senator on Native American and energy issues, according to the Center for Effective Lawmaking.
