Alaska Teamsters Local 959 Endorses Senator Murkowski For Re-Election
The Alaska Teamsters Local 959 Recognizes Murkowski as a Champion for Alaskan Jobs |
This week, the Teamsters Local 959 of Alaska announced their full support of U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) re-election campaign. As the largest private-sector union in Alaska, Teamsters Local 959 represents nearly 60,000 Alaska workers and their families. “Senator Murkowski has been a champion for jobs for Alaskans and Teamsters Local 959 is proud to support her,” said Local 959 Secretary-Treasurer Gary Dixon. “Lisa Murkowski has a strong, demonstrated record of advocating for Alaskan jobs and investing in workforce development,” said campaign manager Nate Adams. “Thanks to her seniority on the Senate Appropriations Committee and her leadership in authoring the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, she’s been able to secure significant investments into our communities, strengthening local economies and creating thousands of jobs.” |

The bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will bring over $550 billion in investments to Alaska’s roads, bridges, airports, ports, ferries, broadband, water and wastewater, energy, resilience, and Tribal infrastructure projects. As one of the lead authors and negotiators of the legislation, Lisa Murkowski secured several provisions that will provide historic investments for Alaska communities–both addressing the infrastructure gap that exists between Alaska’s and the Lower 48’s infrastructure as well as enhancing already-existing infrastructure in the state. Urban and rural communities stand to benefit from the investments within the legislation and includes job-creating projects that will benefit Alaskans for generations to come. Senator Murkowski and her re-election campaign look forward to announcing additional endorsements as the race progresses. |
