Bristol Bay Native Corporation Endorses Lisa Murkowski for Re-election
ANCHORAGE, AK – Today, the Bristol Bay Native Corporation (BBNC) Board of Directors announced their endorsement of Senator Lisa Murkowski’s (R-Alaska) re-election. Lisa Murkowski was commended by the BBNC Board of Directors for her efforts to boost Alaska’s economy and her demonstrated commitment to the Bristol Bay region.
“Senator Lisa Murkowski has a proven history of standing up for Alaska and working to diversify our economy. Her understanding of our region is clear, as well as her support for local jobs and protecting our world-class salmon run. We agree with her that resource development in Alaska is imperative, but we share the critical view that Pebble mine is the wrong mine in the wrong place,” said BBNC President and CEO Jason Metrokin.
“I want to thank BBNC for their endorsement of my re-election campaign,” said Senator Lisa Murkowski. “I’m proud to have worked with BBNC and its shareholders to deliver historic infrastructure investments, protect and bolster our fisheries, and advance important issues in the Bristol Bay region. I look forward to our continued partnership throughout my next term in U.S Senate.”
Senator Murkowski’s re-election campaign has now been endorsed by the ANCSA Regional Association, the Alaska Native Village Corporation Association, Arctic Slope Regional Corp., Bering Straits Native Corp., Calista Corp., Chugach Corp., CIRI Corp., Koniag Corp., Sealaska Corp., and over 140 Alaska Native leaders from every corner of the state.
