National Education Association Endorses Lisa Murkowski for U.S. Senate
ANCHORAGE, AK – Today, the Alaska chapter of the National Education Association (NEA-Alaska) announced its endorsement of Senator Lisa Murkowski’s (R-AK) re-election. In making the endorsement, NEA-Alaska President Tom Klaameyer commended Murkowski’s steadfast commitment to public education in Alaska.
“Senator Murkowski has long championed policies that support a strong public education system,” said NEA-Alaska President Tom Klaameyer. “She is a relentless advocate for the needs of Alaska’s learning community because she listens and cares deeply about the voices of educators, parents, teachers, and students. Senator Murkowski has a demonstrated track record of advancing Alaska’s education priorities, and we look forward to working with her throughout her next term.”
NEA-Alaska is an advocacy group for students and public school employees in Alaska. An affiliate of the National Education Association, NEA-Alaska represents more than 11,000 public school employees, support staff and retirees statewide.
NEA and NEA-Alaska endorsed Senator Lisa Murkowski’s re-election in 2010 and 2016.
